About the mbeon project

Whether you need useful information, answers to your questions, or help finding your feet: mbeon is THE app for adult immigrants in Germany. It helps people from an immigrant background to make their own choices about how they shape their lives in their new home.

Those in need of advice can get direct access to information and competent advice, across the whole of Germany.

The services mbeon offers rest on two pillars:

  1. the new, unique, mobile messenger-based advice service provided via an app (Google PlayApp Store)
  2. the information platform at www.mbeon.de

Get advice online: simply download the app and get in touch with MBE's migration advisors – quickly and easily, no matter where you are. The advisors are available from Monday to Friday, and you are guaranteed to receive a response within 48 hours.

Face-to-face assistance: MBE advice centres near you (free and anonymous)

It's up to you whether you use the online advice service or a face-to-face advice centre. Of course, you're welcome to combine the two services. For example, if you have any more questions once you've met with an advisor in person, you can easily get the answers you need by chatting with your advisor via the mbeon app.

About MBE

The Migration Advice Service for Adult Immigrants (MBE) is an advisory service provided for migrants and refugees. We can give you advice and support. There are 1,473 MBE centres across Germany. You can seek advice from one of these centres or from mbeon online; you are welcome to do so anonymously. The Migration Advice Service for Adult Immigrants acts independently of state authorities. Advisory sessions are free and confidential.

We will support you and provide advice to help you with your questions, such as:

  • Housing (for example: How do I find accommodation? What documents will I need?)
  • Learning German (for example: Where can I learn German? Do I have to pay for the course myself?)
  • School and work (for example: Will my school diploma or training qualifications be recognised? How and where can I find work?)
  • Health (for example: Which doctor can I visit?)
  • Family and raising children (for example: Where can I get a kindergarten place for my child?)

MBE’s advisors will focus on you, taking your personal life story into account, so that you can achieve your goals step by step. If necessary, they can also refer you to other specialist advice centres. For example, the advisors do not assist with applications for asylum and will instead refer you to a refugee advice service.

The MBE advice centres are primarily focused on migrants with permanent resident status, aged 27 and above. In general, the Youth Migration Services (JMD) is responsible for migrants aged under 27. You can also seek advice online from jmd4you.

If you would like to seek advice in person, you can find your nearest MBE advice centre in Germany under Local Help. Of course, you can also open a chat with an MBE advisor (mbeon app on the App Store or Google Play) and have all your questions answered online.

MBE and mbeon are financed by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI) and the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
