Learn more about mbeon and MBE
Available nationwide since 2019, mbeon has offered qualified counselling for adult immigrants in the first few years after their arrival in Germany and has helped them to lead self-determined lives.
The mbeon digital service was developed to offer anyone seeking counselling the opportunity to use messenger-based chat counselling in the mbeon app.
The chat can take place in real time if the counsellor and the person seeking advice are present in the chat room at the same time. As a rule, the counsellor has 48 hours (not counting weekends and public holidays) to respond to a request. This is why counseling tends to take place with a certain delay.
Counselling in mbeon tends to take place as a written chat. Voice notes and documents can also be sent.
More than 250 qualified MBE counsellors from the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, Der Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband,Zentralwohlfahrtsstelle der Juden in Deutschland and Bund der Vertriebenen associations provide advice in mbeon. The app can be used in German, English, Russian, and Arabic. However, consultations within the app are available in over 40 languages.
Anyone seeking counselling can either obtain advice in the app or in-person at a centre. TThese two consulting services can also be combined in blended counseling at the initiative of the consultant. For example, after a personal consultation, further questions can be answered in the chat or documents can be sent quickly. Or vice versa, if an online chat reveals that an on-site appointment is necessary due to the complexity of the issues at hand.
