The child allowance depends on the number of children. The current amounts are:

• 194 euro per month for the first and second child
• 200 euro per month for the third child
• 225 euro per month for the fourth child and every additional child

The child allowance is paid independently of your income. If you receive other social benefits, such as ALG II (“Hartz IV”), however, the child allowance is considered “income”.
